About Our Company

We here at Mud Grabber are striving to revolutionize the way drilling fluid sampling is done.  There has been a glaring need for a professional tool for procuring clean and consistent samples. The oil and natural gas industry, professionalism and safety is at the forefront of our minds.  Identifying and eliminating safety concerns is paramount.  This is the driving force behind Mud Grabber.

In every drilling operation in the oil and gas industry worldwide, we have to have some sort of drilling fluid that is absolutely necessary in order to perform the drilling operation. This drilling fluid needs to be in perfect order. You must constantly pull samples from large tanks to be analyzed. The accepted a tool is homemade from miscellaneous items that are located around the rig, usually consisting of a broomstick that has a plastic Folgers coffee can screwed to it. . After a few weeks of use, the coffee cans inevitably detach from the stick, resulting in a operational safety concern and potential down time when lost in the tank.

Our product is made from an unbreakable polypropylene which is one of the most durable plastic type materials guaranteed to never break. In the process of chemical analysis and weight and viscosity tests one of the major pitfalls is a contaminated sample, meaning your reservoir has remnants from earlier samples dried to the inside of the coffee cans being used to retrieve your sample. A contaminated sample will give you this entirely wrong chemical analysis or breakdown of your drilling fluid and can complicate or compromise your entire drilling process.

Our product has a very smooth inner surface which makes it very easy to clean thus eliminating the possibility of a sample contamination.

Mud Grabber has an easy pour spout in order to eliminate spills.

A pitfall operators may encounter, is the chance of the tool falling into the drilling fluids and causing equipment failure. Our product is made of a very lightweight material and it's guaranteed to float in any drilling fluid.

In an industry striving to promote professionalism and safety, most drilling companies have eliminated the use of any type of homemade tools. However, this coffee can has remained in use simply because there was no professionally manufactured tool in existence. In order to reduce the possibility of sample contamination and/or equipment failure in your drilling operation we all must use the right tool for the job.
